The Wisconsin River Canoe & Kayak Race, established in 1965 and put on by the Wisconsin Canoe Racing Association (WCRA), was a staple in southern Wisconsin, often drawing top regional paddlers. Known as a premier paddling event, it celebrated the river's heritage, featuring a 21-mile course from Spring Green to Muscoda and including traditions like the "Saturday Night Special,"  a popular 4-mile upstream/downstream race, held in Victoria Park, Muscoda. 

Racing on the same weekend as the (now retired) Wisconsin River Canoe & Kayak Race, the Upper St. Croix Canoe Race is picking up the paddle (so to speak) and will include numerous boat and board classes (canoes, kayaks, paddleboards). All are welcome!

The race is held on the flatwater portion of the St. Croix River that connects Upper St. Croix Lake to the St. Croix Flowage near Gordon, Wisconsin. All races will launch from and finish at Lucius Woods County Park in Solon Springs. ​
